Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 May 2026 Applies to: Cogworks for iOS (the “App”)

By installing or using Cogworks, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

1. Who you’re dealing with

Cogworks is provided by:

References to “we”, “us”, or “Cogworks” mean Erenay Tozun acting as the provider of the App. References to “you” mean the person using the App.

2. What the App does

Cogworks helps cyclists track bicycle maintenance: vehicles, components, service intervals, rides, costs, and an inventory for parts taken off one bike to install on another. The App is for personal use, not commercial fleet management.

3. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control. The App is licensed, not sold.

Apple’s standard End User Licence Agreement also applies in addition to these Terms. Where the two conflict, Apple’s standard EULA controls for items it specifically addresses (e.g. iOS distribution rules).

You may not:

4. Your data and account

There is no account system. You don’t sign up; you just use the App. Any data you put into Cogworks (bike info, photos, ride notes, service costs, etc.) belongs to you. We don’t claim ownership and we don’t see this data — it stays on your device and syncs through your private iCloud (see the Privacy Policy for details).

Backup is your responsibility. Because we don’t run a server, we can’t restore data you lose. If you sign out of iCloud or delete the App without iCloud sync enabled, the data is gone. We recommend leaving iCloud sync on.

5. Subscription (Cogworks Premium)

5.1 Plans

Premium unlocks an unlimited number of vehicles. The feature set is otherwise identical between Free and Premium.

Prices may vary by country and currency, may change for new buyers, and are shown to you in your local currency in the App and on the App Store at the moment of purchase.

5.2 Billing, renewal, and cancellation

Subscriptions are sold through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.

Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. The renewal price is the same as the most recent period unless we notify you of a price change at least 30 days in advance.

How to cancel. Open iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Cogworks → Cancel. You can also cancel from inside the App: Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.

Refunds. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Submit a refund at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. We don’t process refunds ourselves and can’t override Apple’s decisions.

Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the App or switch devices, sign in with the same Apple ID and tap “Restore Purchases” on the paywall (or in Settings → Subscription). Your subscription will re-activate.

5.3 Right of withdrawal (EU)

Under EU consumer law, you usually have 14 days to withdraw from a digital service purchase without giving a reason. By starting to use the App after purchase, you agree that we deliver the service immediately, which under Article 16 of the EU Consumer Rights Directive waives that withdrawal right. Statutory rights against defective digital content are unaffected.

6. Maintenance reminders — read this

Cogworks calculates wear and reminds you when components may be due for service, based on the intervals you (or our bundled templates) configure. These reminders are guidance, not safety-critical advice.

Always check parts yourself and consult your bicycle’s manual or a qualified mechanic when in doubt. A chain that the App says is at 50% may already be at the wear limit if you ride hard in mud. Cogworks helps you remember; it doesn’t replace your judgement.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for:

Our total aggregate liability to you, for any claim arising out of the App, is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you’ve paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) €25.

These limits do not apply to liability that the law says cannot be limited (e.g. gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or — for EU consumers — statutory rights).

9. Your obligations

You agree to:

You agree not to:

10. Termination

You can stop using the App any time by uninstalling it. We can suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms. If your subscription is active when we terminate, we’ll prorate a refund unless your breach justifies otherwise.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, the App will surface a notice at next launch and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

If you are an EU consumer, this clause does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, including your right to bring claims in your local courts. The European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

13. Severability

If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
