Frequently asked

How do I track multiple bikes?

The free tier covers one bike. Cogworks Premium unlocks unlimited bikes — €2.99/month or €19.99/year. Tap + in the garage; if you’re at the free limit you’ll see the upgrade screen.

Where is my data stored?

Everything lives on your device and syncs through your own iCloud private database. There’s no Cogworks server. If you uninstall the app, the local copy is gone — but your iCloud copy stays until you delete it from iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Cogworks.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open iOS Settings → tap your name at the top → SubscriptionsCogworksCancel Subscription. You’ll keep Premium until the current period ends. You can also reach this from inside the app: Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription.

I bought Premium but it’s not showing up

Open Settings inside the app → tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID you used when buying. If it still doesn’t work, email me.

How does the parts inventory work?

Tap Take off (move to inventory) in a component’s menu to detach a part from a bike. The part keeps its lifetime kilometres and hours. Open the inventory tray (top-right of the garage) to install it on another bike — wear continues where it left off.

The wear percentages don’t match what I expect

Wear is calculated against the service interval you set. A chain at 50% has 50% of its interval used — not 50% physical stretch. Always inspect parts yourself; Cogworks reminds, it doesn’t measure.

Can I edit a logged ride?

Tap any ride in the “Recent rides” list to edit distance, duration, date, or notes. Long-press to delete. The bike’s odometer and component wear update automatically.

How do I turn off analytics?

Settings → Privacy → toggle off Share usage analytics. Anonymous product events stop immediately. See the Privacy Policy for what’s collected.

CloudKit sync isn’t working

Make sure iCloud is enabled in iOS Settings and you have free iCloud storage. Sync typically propagates within ~10 seconds between devices signed into the same Apple ID. If two devices are stuck, signing out of iCloud and back in on the lagging device usually fixes it.
